Cemetary Road/Hugo Mine Bridge Deck Replacement
Location: Keystone, SDTotal Project Cost: $200,000.00Project Design Engineer : Paul Egge, PEProject Description : This bridge design was a replacement for and existing bridge at a crossing on Cemetery Road. The existing bridge was a timber bridge constructed with log beams and a wood deck. The logs had been decayed and on of the log beams had collapsed into the creek. The bridge abutments were constructed with concrete and in good condition, so the decision was made to re-utilize the existing abutments. Precast double tees were selected for the structure of the new bridge for durability, low maintenance and speed of construction. The bridge provides access to the residences on the south side of the creek, so in addition to a limited budget a fast tracked project was critical.Bridge
TIMBER GLULAM BRIDGE
Location: Rapid City, SDTotal Project Cost: $200,000.00Size: 3-Span 116' BridgeProject Design Engineer : Paul Egge, PEProject Description : This bridge was constructed across Rapid Creek at the end of Dark Canyon Road to the west of Rapid City to provide access to the site for a new custom residence. To minimize the effects on stream flows and to create as little disturbance as possible to the stream bed, single concete columns were used at the bridge piers. Brookings Regional Pain Center Location : Brookings, SD Total Project Cost : $ 2.0 Million Size : 25,000 SF Project Design Engineer : Larry D. Hermanson, PE Project Description : The construction of this $2 million state-of-the-art medical facility brought chiropractors, physical therapists, and medical doctors under one roof. The Pain Center is located east of Brookings, SD on US Highway 14. Hermanson Egge Engineering was retained to perform the structural engineering for NMW Architects of Sioux City, IA. Hermanson Egge Engineering provided engineering support to the architect for the following design services: 1. Foundation design 2. Lateral Building desgin 3. Steel frame design 4. Concrete design 5. Location : Rapid City, SDTotal Project Cost : $ 12.50 MillionSize : 98,400 SFProject Design Engineer : Paul Egge, PEConstruction Estimate : $ 11.30 Million.Bid Price : $ 11.05 Million.Building Description : Hermanson Egge Engineering served as the prime consultant on this project. The building has a main level footprint of 84,700 SF with an upper level class room pod of 13,700 SF for a total building size of 98,400 SF. The finished building needs to be occupied by August of 2008. Because of the limited construction time, we designed an isolated steel frame to support the floors, roofs and upper level walls. This allowed the contractor to quickly erect the floor and roof. The installation of the mechanical and electrical systems started much earlier than normal, allowing an early completion time. Central High School Fine Arts Addition Location : Rapid City, SD Total Project Cost : $9,000,000.00 Size : 37,200 S.F Project Design Engineer : Paul Egge, PE Project Description : The new auditorium for Rapid City's Central High School is a 680-seat multipurpose performing arts space for drama, music, dance, lyric theatre, and lecture use. While there is no balcony, the seating and aisles are efficient yet comfortable with excellent sightlines to the stage. The stage is tall enough to allow flown scenery and the rigging provides safe access for servicing light and curtains and tracks. Over the stage is modified gridiron system that allows for regular servicing and some special rigging while not reducing the fly height. The rigging system is a combination of motorized to fly the heavier and slower lighting and shell safely and manual for the lighter curtains and scenery. There is a complete orchestra shell with rolling towers and flown ceiling with integral concert lighting to enhance band, chorus, and orchestra sound. The stage floor is on rubber pads for resiliency to support dance and aid orchestra. State of the art networked lighting controls are rubber pads for resiliency to support dance and aid orchestra. State of the art networked lighting controls are included with just under 300 circuits. Energy saving LED lighting, not requiring relamping for a very long time, is used for house lighting as well as for some production lighting. First Western Bank – Eglin Street Branch
Location : Rapid City, SDTotal Project Cost : $ 2.6 MillionSize : 25,000 SFProject Design Engineer : Larry Hermanson, PEProject Description : This new building provided an updated image for the bank. The design utilized beautiful exposed Glulam beams within open spaces. The main level lobby is open to the high roof because of large openings through the second floor. Skylights in the roof structure let light shine on the second floor and main lobby. The lower level space provides garden level lighting throughout. The space was designed for future use and is now being offered as leased space to other businesses.
